(Munich, 28 January 2016) – Lufthansa is extending one of its most exclusive services from a select A321 flight to all passengers flying with Germany’s leading airline: state-of-the-art digital newstainment in every service class – all thanks to the Media Box, a comprehensive, highly functional eJournal media library developed by Munich-based Media Carrier GmbH. Lufthansa passengers can now compile their personal in-flight reading material from a wide portfolio of 145 German as well as international publications and daily newspapers.

Since 21 January 2016, Lufthansa passengers can visit lh.com/eJournals and download two eJournals of their choice from the Media Box to their own electronic devices starting three days before their flight. All they have to do is enter their name and booking code or ticket number. Passengers who receive a pre-flight e-mail notification with travel details can benefit from this option since the beginning of January.

Starting in March 2016, the airline will be offering a varying number of downloads depending on flight class and frequent flyer status. Passengers will also have the option to purchase additional digital newspapers or magazines. The reading material will be available as PDF files, even after the flight is over. Passengers can download their chosen business magazine or morning paper as an in-flight read from various touchpoints: the Lufthansa app, web check-in, Lufthansa website or the tried-and-tested pre-flight newsletter.

“We are delighted to welcome Lufthansa, one of the world’s leading airlines, to our family of customers. Now, all Lufthansa passengers can access our Media Box, download a wide variety of newspapers and magazines and experience the convenience of reading the latest e-papers anytime and anywhere,” said Philipp J. Jacke, Managing Director of Media Carrier.

Media Carrier operates the Media Box and provides all digital content. The company brings together the expertise of sales and media experts: from technical all-round testing of all Media Box functions to comprehensive customer support and consistent service monitoring.

Newspapers and magazines are presented unabridged in the same layout used in the print versions and can be browsed easily and intuitively. Readers can also zoom in on individual text passages if they wish.

The Media Box is a web-based platform that supports all internet-enabled devices. It takes only one click to download a publication as a PDF file.
